Pues bien... como leen... el dia de hoy recibi una donacion de parte de Jaime Escobar, quien trabaja en una empresa de textiles... y a titulo personal ha donado cerca de 200 medias para celular!... las cuales seran destinadas a nuestro evento de aniversario a celebrarse el proximo 12 de julio en la sede de la UBV en caracas.

Well yes, today Jaime Escobar just donated to me almost 200 cell socks (to put your phone inside), with the Ubuntu-ve's logo on one side and a tux logo on the other... and they all are going to the VenezuelaTeam's second aniversary for free to the public!!!

CNSL4 @ Lara

Bueno, Lara fue algo totalmente distinto a Aragua... ya que en lara si fui ponente !

La verdad gracias al equipo organizador del CNSL @ Lara, porque me trataron bastante bien (Aunque no me dieron mucho cafe cafe...), aun tomando en cuenta que soy MUY despistado

Por alla tuve el placer de conocer en persona a mucha gente que ya conocia por IRC, como Danyelis Herrera (Sirena2903) Javier Valdive (g3o), Manuel Chavez (Zizzou), Eduardo Linares (Edgardoweb), Manuel Mujica, Nestor Salazar (nesalix), Raul Lopez Brett ([Firebird]), Jose Lopez Brett (Nosgoth), Maria Veronica Lavieri (QueeStorm) y un monton de gente que no recuerdo sus nombres (Tengo mala memoria :p).

Mi ponencia, bueno eso es otro asunto... Se titulaba "Servidores web: Sirviendo al internauta con codigo abierto." pensaba hacerla lo mejor posible... pero hacerla asi.... implicaba volverme MUY tecnico... asi que me fui por lo mas sencillo, dar un paneo de que servidores web existen, y que tienen (Soy de los que dicen que no tienes que comparar los puntos malos, sino mencionar los puntos buenos de cada producto...), se suponia que debia durar unos 40 minutos... pero creo que no llegue a los 30 LOL! pero en fin, creo que el publico quedo complacido, y la gente no quedo en la luna que es lo mas importante...

Comparti mucho con los guaros, y con gente que ya conocia (Jesus Lara, Nerissa Aguilera, Nathalie Colina, Ishtar Molero, Maria Gracia Leandro y muchos otros) pasando un grato fin de semana... Sin contar que aprendi unos cuantos truqitos.

Porcierto, debo darle gracias especiales a zetra por darme la cola hasta el terminal xD, y a Zizou, que convencio a la prima de que prestara el Stand de Ubuntu-ve, que definitivamente, es mucho mas bonito que una mesa.... y mucho mas util! ya que hasta nos sirvio de deposito... LOL
 

Y por ultimo... he de mencionar que este evento fue tambien una oportunidad de oro, para que grupove se reuniera... aunque solo fueramos 4... pero se que para CNSL @ Anzoategui seremos muchos mas..

Well, Lara was different from Aragua... since i was giving a talk in Lara

Truly,big thanks to the Lara Team, they where very kind to me, counting that i am very... err you know slow for some stufffff.. (Like buying my bus ticket, in the last minute)

My talk, well that's another histor... It was called "Web Servers: Serving the internaut with Open Source Code." i wanted to do my best with it... but doing it the best.... would have mean becoming too tecnichal... so i took it easy , i showed the public which webservers are out there, y and what they have on the FOSS side (I dont like to compare... i prefer to say the good points of every product and let people choose), it was suposed to last 40 minutes... but i think i didnt lasted more than 30 LOL! but well i think the public was satisifed with my talk, and the best is that i dont think that they where on the moon when i spoke which is more important...

I had a nice time with the Guaros (People form Lara), and many others i already knew (Jesus Lara, Nerissa Aguilera, Nathalie Colina, Ishtar Molero, Maria Gracia Leandro and many others) having a great weekend... And i also leaned new tricks

Btw, special thanks to zetra for taking me to the Bus Station xD, and  Zizou, who borrowed the Ubuntu-ve Stand from his cousin, which is way more beautifull than a simple table.... y and way more usefull! and it even was used as depot... LOL

And last but not less important ... this event was the gold oprtunity for Grupove (VEnezuelan postgreSQL user's group) to have its first national meting... even if we where only 4... but i am sure that at  CNSL @ Anzoategui we will be many more

Bueno, se suponia que debi haber blogueado acerca de estos dos eventos dias despues de que se llevaran a cabo... pero no me habia dado tiempo...

CNSL4 @ Aragua

En fin, el dia 7 de junio, los ubunteros de caracas y zonas aledañas, tuvimos la oportunidad de asistir al CNSL4 @ Maracay, estado Aragua. Evento donde pudimos compartir con otros ubunteros de distintas partes de la geografia nacional (Art3mis4 y Gurnch), y tambien con la gente de glove, y otros grupos de usuarios.

Nos dimos el gustazo de preparar un muy vistoso Stand, que fue bombardeado por el publico, al final de cada, charla, se rifaron unos cuantos CDs, se quemaron MUCHOS otros... y se repartieron algunos stickers

Cabe destacar, que Octavio Rossel, antes de hacer su presentacion del escritorio GNU/Linux (En este caso hizo una demostracion de instalacion de Ubuntu Linux), me permitio dar unas breves palabras para dar una breve introduccion de Ubuntu-ve al publico asistente, Gracias Octavio!.

Bueno, para completar el dia, presenciamos un baile de la burriquita!

Well i was supposed to blog about this as the events happened... but i didnt had time.

CNSL4 @ Aragua

Well... on June 7th the Ubuntu-ve's caracas Team had the opportunity to atendee to the CNSL4 @ Maracay,  Aragua. Event where we could share a nice time with many other Ubunteros (Art3mis4 and Gurnch), and also the  glove people, y and many other user groups.

We had the chance to prepare a very nice Stand, which was bombed by the public at the end of every talk, we gave cds, and burned many many more... and some stickers (Thanks to System76)

I have to mention that Octavio Rossel, before giving his talk about GNU/Linux (in this case, he gave a guided intallation talk of Ubuntu Linux), let me introduce  Ubuntu-ve to the people, Thanks Octavio!.

And we also could watch a burriquita dance!!
